2011 Asian Pacific American Heritage Award
Lifetime Achievement
Mayor Edwin Lee and the Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration Committee invite the public to submit nominations for the 2011 Asian Pacific American Heritage Awards. The annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Awards is one of the main events of San Francisco's official celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month during the month of May.AWARDS THEME
The Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration Committee recognizes the tremendous role the media, traditional as well as news, plays in disseminating news and information about the Asian Pacific American community. These diverse forms of communication technologies offer opportunities for Asian Pacific Americans to be their own authors and reporters on local, national and international issues. And through their words and voices, we, as well as future generations, will be able to learn more about our community and connect with each other.
This year's Asian Pacific American Heritage Award for Lifetime Achievement will honor a distinguished individual for his or her distinct achievements and community impact in the area of traditional and new media.
