Authorizing and requesting the President to proclaim the 7-day period beginning on May 4, 1979, as "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week".one thousand nine hundred and seventy-eight Joint Resolution Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is hereby authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating the 7-day period beginning on May 4, 1979, as "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week" and calling upon the people of the United States, especially the educational community, to observe such week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
