Begun and held at the City of Washington on Thursday, the nineteenth day of January,
one thousand nine hundred and seventy-eight

Joint Resolution

Authorizing and requesting the President to proclaim the 7-day period beginning on May 4, 1979, as "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week".

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is hereby authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating the 7-day period beginning on May 4, 1979, as "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week" and calling upon the people of the United States, especially the educational community, to observe such week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
